preschool christmas crafts

Creative ideas or clever to empty formula cans?
We went through a lot of cans of formula 12 oz each month (like coffee cans small tin). Instead of simply throwing them out or for recycling, I'm saving and finding some of the uses creative and crafty. I arrange a play group with preschoolers ages 0-5 and parents and was trying to think how I could use these for a craft project. Otherwise, how could make them something for Christmas presents for friends / family - fill them with something nice and somehow decorate the outside or something? There is a wealth of plastic blades that come with each can, so it could somehow be incorporated ... Is anyone else turning the wheel enough to share some creative ideas with me?!
Thanks in advance!
oh wow what fun. Let's see. children could use the blades as shovels and let them put land to pots in a setting they can plant something in your family. use could use a decor best to keep the classroom organized. as in the colors and markers or glue sticks. can also give each child one to save coins to donate to charity. or decorated possible for children with gifts for the holiday games.
